From Wildlife Stories: ‘Young Leopard Encounter Collection’ During an afternoon safari in Yala National Park Block 5 in Sri Lanka, I spotted a young leopard walking peacefully along a dirt path through the dense bush. The warm afternoon light provided perfect conditions to capture this rare encounter.

Just as I was about to aim my camera for the ideal shot, the leopard was suddenly chased by another safari car whose occupants were less than respectful of the situation. The young animal was startled and disappeared toward the bush.

Fortunately, the leopard turned around one more time, allowing me to take a special photo after all. He then walked on to the shelter of the vegetation, where he unexpectedly reappeared on the path. There he remained for a few moments, giving me the chance to capture another series of unique photos before he finally disappeared into the greenery.

This exclusive wildlife photo not only shows the beauty and elegance of a young Sri Lankan leopard, but also tells the story of a special encounter in which patience, respect for nature and a bit of luck came together. Questions?
